A medal for all parents of DT1 kids!

We are on holidays and our son had a serious low at the camp site this morning...ugh we are only 4 months into this disease and boy was I scared. He was slowly slipping away from us but we managed to get some juice down him.....he hardly recalled it happening. I wish there was a medal for the parents......it seems we just get sailing and the ship vears in another direction.....

Hang in there Betsy! You have just jumped a HUGE hurdle with that low your son had. YOU can do it, as the past 4 months proved it.

As for sailing, as you know you can not sail into the no sail zone, no matter how hard you try. We can not change the diabetes. You have to learn to read the wind and use it and that takes time and practice. You are aquiering new knowledge every day. With Diabetes the wind changes everyday, but with time some things become more predictable. Just keep it simple and be vigilant. YOu are doing a great job already.

As for the medal - I hang Mr T's smile as a medal every day ;)

And thanks for reading !

Thanks and blessings to you on your words of wisdom....feeling really Rookie these days.
