A picture is worth 1,000 words!

I am currently making a personal video about Olivia's journey with type 1 diabetes. I had my oldest daughter take this picture of Olivia actually getting an insulin injection. She did a great job capturing the moment, but looking at this picture is hard. More or less heartbreaking. Does she make this face with every injection? I really don't get to see her face, her face expressions. I'm usually concentrating so much on what I'm doing...
  • trying to stop the constant shaking of my hand…
-trying to make it fast, but not too fast because I don’t want any insulin to leak out…
    -trying a “new spot”…
-hoping that this time it doesn’t hurt…
    -etc. etc. etc.

More people need to see this. It’s not fun and it doesn’t equal "control."
I’m glad you posted the photo.

Did shots for 35 years and I never got use to them. I always tensed up and they hurt most of the time. Hopefully you will get her on the pump soon. It still is not a cure, but it avoids the constant shots and just makes our daily struggle a little easier.

This broke my heart. What a beautiful girl, what a sad face.

Have you tried the i-port? I heard mixed reviews, but if it could make it more comfortable for Olivia… that would be great.

Ronda, you a and your daughter inspire me so much…

Wow!! This picture IS worth a 1,000 words! This could be an awareness poster.
