A way to keep the TuDiabetes forum going

Kliff is doing something exploitative with patients. People are walking right into it. That happens a lot on LI.

I had to go back to 2012 to find a reference to my linkedin account. It seems to be one of those I deleted with extreme prejudice. I just tried to recover my password (since I know I would have used my jbowler account from the ACM in 2012) but no 6 digit code.

Good: I don’t believe in the past.

At the time LinkedIn was a way to swap our CV around to other guys in the TechBro industry, so, yeah; marketing. It was not a place to get useful advice on anything other than than our next job.

Why would I discuss diabetes with my next boss? Why would I mention it; it might be toxic. In fact it would be toxic; why raise one’s own diabetes in a job interview?

However there is an inherent toxicity to LinkedIn itself; everyone is out to get a job. Cool, sure, it was very nice, a bunch of the top dudes in the field. Dudes out to get a job. They don’t want any challenging questions to be asked; someone might ask them at the interview.

ā€œI notice you gave a very erudite response to a question about autoimmune diabetes on LinkedIn, perhaps you could explain your reasoning? Diabetes is a very serious hit on our bottom line at present.ā€

LI is where the healthcare disruptors do their work. You don’t get a job doing healthcare disruption. That’s not what its about.

No one pays you to do healthcare disruption. They pay you not to.

@Luis3, I’ve been having great luck with the lobby lately. 1,500 views in less than 24 hours. That’s good. When I do really good, this song plays in my head with the lyrics, ā€œLobby, lobby, lobbyā€¦ā€ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ETxmCCsMoD0 It’s in a practical place where healthcare policy nuts from both parties congregate. The doctors are making comments like, ā€œmic drop!ā€ It’s fun.

But the pharmacists have delayed the release of their next propaganda video. They are fantastic at what they do. I’m disappointed. The docs will release their propaganda video in March. https://suckitupbuttercupfilm.com/

We’ve been having discussions about the difference between lobbying with money vs lobbying with truth as a currency. Optum has been out launching some outrageous attacks. I try to have fun with it. Yesterday I told them to stop shoving ā– ā– ā– ā–  up my butt and posted this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-peWHO6pRnQ You gotta enjoy yourself out there. I’ve got the Doctors fully in open rebellion. That’s Optum’s worst fear. I taunt them. Usually, if I write one negative comment on their ads, all hell breaks loose and people join in from everywhere. It’s easy to light their posts on fire.

Matthew Zachary (author) is cancer advocacy.

I tried very hard to advocate for two diabetes, but kept being told it was futile

Who’d you talk to? I haven’t been able to contact anyone at BeyondType1 but others have been super supportive. I’m hoping if we work together we can find a way.

I talked to anyone that I could, Marie, Terry, john Bowler, spdif , moh101, anyone who had been on the forum for a while. People stirred me toward fudiabetes.org. I couldn’t find out who made the decision and why the members consulted.

I don’t think its futile. Definitely hard but not Sisyphus pushing a rock up a mountain hard. Not even ordering from Edgepark hard and lots of us have survived that trial.

I know you’ve been asking who to contact. Part of the problem is we the TuDiabetes community don’t know who. The last we heard from Beyond Type 1 was Community Manager @Mila’s last post in 2023. We just need to find a connection with someone at Beyond Type 1.

Someone on this forum including Jon Bowler has said beyond type one it’s not a good source. I did write Marie thinking she was the boss of tufiabetes and she said she had no control it.

There seems to be no solution or option for us that we want to keep tudiabetes. I was referred to fu Diabetes.

Most of the people here (on TuD) do not know the original administrators. Mila was apparently the last but that is based on other information posted here and, maybe, FUD; i.e. it’s hearsay.

I think I can reasonably say that there was no meaningful communication between those in charge and anyone who, after the first announcement has commented on TuD.

So who knows what will happen on 2/1/26? Most likely nothing because it’s a Sunday. Who knows; I suspect it will be like looking for the aurora from the equator.

There’s no way to protest on the Internet.
