Accu-Check Aviva One Time Coding

Just a quick question, anyone have any idea what the purpose is for the new Aviva upgrade to "Test & Go Technology"?

They will still ship a 1 time coding chip with each box of test strips, but they instruct you to now throw those away. Must be a savings in manufacturing VS the white coded chips?

They are trying to move to a 'no code' technology like most of the other meters out there. A lot of people don't change the code chip with every new box of stips and this causes errors. So, people are being shipped these black code chips and they are to stay in the meters permanatly. Pharmacies are getting shipped the new meters with the black code chip built in. It will save patients hastle:)

Been wondering for a while when companies would go to no coding. I haven't gotten strips with the black chip yet. Noticed the CA in the link. Is this just a change for Canada for now?
