It is a little chunky. I thought I was going to hate it, but my BG is doing better and I am really enjoying it. Certainly not for everyone!
you are right its certainly not for everyone.
I dināt have to trade my Ping, so now I have a new Ping, a fairly new Reel and Omnipods. Iām set for awhileā¦
i dont know if i have to turn in my vibe but i guess once i get a straight answer out of someone and find out about assistance for the 670G if that is the route we are going, etc.
That was supposed to say Revelā¦
I called Medtronic Canada yesterday (Monday) to get my 630g in exchange for the Vibe. They verified my identity and my Vibe warranty, and my endo info. Then Medtronic rep said my new 630g will be delivered this Wednesday. It will come with a month supply of Mio set, and enlite sensors. Unbelievable. Iām waiting with bated breath.
My Vibe warranty expires in Oct 2020. The new 630g warranty will expire at that date too.
hrmā¦ill have to see what i can doā¦ill see if i get someone else on the phone. hopefully they can help me get the 630G even tho my dr wants me on the 670G. thanks for sharing
Update: I called medtronic about my pump delivery today Wednesday. The person said it was just shipped today so it will not be delivered until Friday. I was told Wednesday delivery last Monday. I will not be home on Friday so requested for Monday delivery. Oh boy! I hope this will not be the same case for a pump break-down replacement.
Question to Medtronic pump users who experienced a pump break-down. How fast was the replacement pump delivered? If vacationing, say Europe, Russia, or North Korea, do you bring a back-up loaner?
The package was a free box of Mios. It said something about a request I made for them, which had to be before 3/2017 when I got my brand new Ping. Oh wellā¦
well i finally got a straight answer. i was given a phone number to call from the medtronic agent on facebook. so i called today. im getting the 630G finally. its going to take a few weeks as they just got the signed paper from me today as i printed and scanned it with my signature. then the next step is they need the prescription from my dr. then i can get the pump then i turn in my current one. so soon enough ill be able to see the screen, have a bit eaiser time with it, etc. ill be using the same infusion set as i use for the vibe. the contact detach which they have their own kind. will be working on getting the cgm part as well. so today was a good day and finally got some good answers
Yay! Glad itās working out!!!
me too. i hope ill be happy with the pump. if not im going to find out how to upgrade to the 670G. i told the guy that its a shame that the 670G isnt being offered as the free upgrade as its talked about a lot on facebook. so in a few weeks ill have the new pump and be up and running by the end of june beginning of july.
The vibe has Luer lock, and the minimed cartride has a different connector, proprietaty minimed connection. I believe your vibe infusion set luer lock connector will not work with the 630 g.
Can other users confirm this?
Medtronic infusion set connector:
Look at item 2 in the drawing.
Luer lock connector:
Note: Only medtronic has their own type of connector. All other pump manufacturers uses the standard Luer Lock connectors.
Is this how medtronic make sure their pump users buy only the medtronic products? You bet!
Smart or selfish?
Right. Animas sets will not work with Medtronic pump, though for anyone curious, if you are using your Animas until it dies, at least for the time Medtronic has Luer Lock sets for Animas users.
Tandem also has gone the way of requiring their own sets on their pumpsā¦
he told me ill be using something similar to the contact detach as its the only one that works for me. less ER visits. ive only had one ER visits with this type vs the other types i end up in the ER a few times a year. So ill be getting supplies for the pump. i know the CGM has to go through the insurance so i told him i want that as well so im able to keep up with my sugar levels readings. so heāll get a prescription for that. i need to message my dr to let him know i had a breakthrough etc. im gonna look at the medtronics page again and see what the infusion set looks like. im sure it will look the same but want to see it anyways.
it seems that the companies want their own sets to be used vs being universal maybe?
MedT has been that way forever, yes, and now Tandem is joining them. So hopefully for those sticking with the Animas as long as they can, sets for that will still be out there. I hope MedT continues to carry their Animas version. I use Smith Medical Cleos with my Ping and they said they will be available.
from my understanding medtronics will keep giving animas users the supplies they use until a certain time then they have to switch over or they can go with another company. i just wanna switch because of the several issues i have with the animas now. plus to take advantage of the free switch. too bad the 670G isnt part of the switch as their facebok page talks a lot about it vs the 630G which would be nice to talk about as well. plus it will give me a chance to use a different pump as ever since i started pumping its been with animas. so i have no experience with other companies which is scary for me. i know that the medtronics pump has more buttons you have to go through but thats ok with me. ive played around with one of the pumps to see if i can do it. even though animas has three buttons to press which made it simple but you have to go through the same as with the menu choices, etc
