Article in San Francisco Chronicle about adult-onset Type 1 diabetes

Whoa! Stop the presses! The SF Chronicle reports that a new type of adult diabetes is on the rise! Of course, it's not new, yes it is probably on the rise (3-4% increase per year) but the main thing is that the misdiagnosed are finally getting correctly diagnosed.

As for the "new type," adult-onset Type 1 diabetes was described about 3,000 years ago, on papyrus paper no less.

This article does include wrong information, but it is progress nonetheless. The Wall Street Journal article on misdiagnosis was better.

I think the article was fairly accurate.
