Bayer Breeze2 meter

I am thinking about getting a Bayer Breeze2 meter. I was just wondering how the blood glucose results that it gives compare to people's other meters. Has anyone tested it against their other meters and what were the results?

Hi there Glucosegirl. I have the Breeze2 which I used for the first 6 months or so. I replaced it with an Accuchek Compact Plus when I left the Breeze at work one day. The Breeze consistently reads a few points higher than the Compact, but not enough to make any real change in treatment. From the comments I have seen this tends to be true of most all meters. Some difference, but not much. Personally though, I much prefer the Compact. I have PN in my hands so I have a hard time getting the rest strip disc in place correctly. I also had a lot of misfires with the Breeze when it spits out the test strip. I also had the feeding mechanism break and had to replace the first meter. I have never had a misfire with the Compact. The test strips come in a 17 strip drum that drops in like a roll of film and it comes with a super easy lancet that attaches to the meter. The lancet is also drum loaded. All in all I prefer the Compact Plus over the Breeze hands down. At the same time, the Breeze delivered consistent reliable results. I think the biggest considerations when looking at meters are the ease of use and cost of test strips. Most seem to do the job they are supposed to.
