Berberine? Any good for lowering bs (T2)?

I have heard about Berberine helping to lower bs for years. I never took the capsules because they were too big. Now I have an opportunity to buy the drops. Has anyone here had experience with how good/bad Berberine actually works on bs, please? Thanks in advance.

I do a Keto diet and take hydro berberine twice a day and quick taking Metformin. Other than higher glucose levels first thing in the morning, I do quite well. My A1C has been coming down also.

Thank you, Timberframe.

I have a friend who is using berberine and she said that is working, slowly but working. I have lost 30 kg after getting type 2 and I stopped taking any pills and my sugar level is ok . Of course I walk from 5 to 15 km daily. I cannot eat any sweets . Best diet is to give up on sweets and alcohol and keep walking . I switch from white bread to the wholegrain . I start from two sandwiches for breakfast two for dinner and lunch is a normal food like pasta or potatoes with stuff. and I stopped eating after 4pm untill 8 am and my sugar level was perfect and I lost 30 kg in 4 months. Beggining was hard but after 2 weeks I get use to. Good luck

I’ve had very bad experiences with the use of herbs and supplements. There always seems to be a reason way they didn’t work for me. The main reasons I had been given were I didn’t take them long enough, or poor quality supplements. Either way, My a1c went from 6.2 to 8.1 during the three months I used them. The cost/benefit was extremely poor so I stopped.

The most success I’ve had has been staying away from foods that I’m allergic. Thanks to an extremely helpful Dietitian, through the use of a food journal I discovered food I didn’t know that I have allergies. Oatmeal and most grains being the biggest issue.

Through exercise (cardio and non cardio) I’ve regained the a1c I had, and lost a fair amount of weight in the process. Yoga has been a surprise for me. The aches and pains slowly and steadily decreased as my flexibility increased.

Sorry for rambling.

Always,

John
