Byetta

Does anyone know anything about Byetta?

I believe its Symlin, under a different name, marketed in Britain. Do not quote me on this. Just read that they’re two separate drugs which mimic the response of hormones in the body. It’s really interesting just haven’t got around to reading up on it, yes lazy. Jason will be able to tell you.

It is not Symlin. It is derived from komodo dragon spit. It coaxes more insulin out of your islet cells which is why it is approved for Type 2 diabetics only, whereas Symlin is approved for both Type 1 and Type 2. Other than that effect, it is similar to Symlin in action- reduces appetite, slows digestion, etc…

Sadly, Symlin is only available in the United States. I wish that were not the case.

It’s main feature is actually that it delays the dumping of the stomach slowing the digestion process.

Great answer. I’ve been on Byetta for two years. There is a Byetta group. If you have specific questions, I’d be happy to try to answer them.
