My wife takes her blood glucose readings four times a day and her finger tips are getting extremely sore. Her doctors (in Canada and Saudi Arabia) only told her to take samples from her finger tips but are there any other areas on her body she can take samples from? If these areas exist, the information is greatly appreciated.
Yes - the newer glucose meters has another tip (transparent one) you can take blood in you palm - the thick part of you thumb, forearms, top of you legs, even your calves. I don’t actually think it is possible with the older glucose meters.
We tried it - it’s more difficult to draw blood. Apparently you put on the transparent tip - you shoot, and then you press the whole thing up an down - a pumping action to let the blood flow… The manufacturers suggest that you do not use alternative sites when you test for a hypo - then the finger tips are the best.
Well i have been using the FreeStyle glucose meter since i was dx 7 years ago and i usually test on my forearm, i just couldn’t stand the idea of testing on my finger tips, they HURT LIKE HELL!!
it says in the user manual that i can also test on my upper arm, hand, thigh and calf.

Don’t take samples from finger TIPS! The side of the finger is much less painful. I have illustrated this here: Painless Blood Sugar Testing.
The problem with testing at other sites is a) the arm hurts MORE than the side of the finger. b) It isn’t accurate as the readings can lag 15 minutes or more behind the finger reading due to the structure of the skin. If you are testing to adjust insulin doses, arms are dangerously inaccurate.
