Canada

Hey, does anyone know anything about islet transplants and livers in Toronto or BC involving no anti-rejection drugs? Let me know, as I'm exploring options.

I think I heard something about this. The islet cells were placed in lab dishes that contained cells from the recipients body ( as a new habitat for the islet cells as it were) and then transplanted into the recipient. Wish I could tell you more or give a specific reference. Please post more when you get more info.

There is a human trial starting for encapsulated beta cells in CA right now, someone posted a link 3-4 months ago. I'm not sure if this is what you mean.
