It doesn’t seem to be very promising in my opinion. It still depends on insulin injected under the skin, which is not relatively reliable or consistent in action compared to endogenous insulin produced by non-diabetics. It does not replace amylin, also secreted by the beta cells and important for proper digestion. And it does not address the problem of hypoglycemia- there is no glucagon infusion, nor would you really want that because taking glucagon by injection makes you feel sick.
