When she leaned down into the cooler near me, I saw tubing! She was wearing a pump! Was it an ice blue Cozmo or did she have a Medtronic pump on? I looked a little closer. Medtronic! I quietly whispered to my family that this girl was wearing a Medtronic pump!
The first look was "sure". The next remark came from my oldest son. He simply stated that I was creepy!
Great one! I’d say observant, as you can read from my comment on your full D-Blog! We in the DOC or more general Diabetes Community must stick together!
It’s all part of the membership in this rather exclusive club. Now that you are aware of these things, you will see the signs even if they are somewhat subtle. It’s not creepy at all. It’s observant and you should tell your teenager to jump in the lake. (While there’s some summer left.)
Observant ; same as the chap in Save-On Foods shopping with his child and he noticed my pump on my belt the other day …we had the most wonderful conversation …what did it for me : I asked him if he was aware : Disability Tax Credit if he can prove the min . 14 hours weekly it takes to manage the D ( here in Canada ) and have Doc sign his papers . He knew, however his Accountant told him , that he would NOT qualify …I directed him to the TU Canadian site and the discussion posted/ become a Tu member as well …he thanked me , like a 25 year old kid has never thanked me before !! Hope he will be successful in his application
