Demistify Creativity - (1 of 3)

Myth #1 - I’m not a creative person.

Well, that’s not true. You may not be a very creative person…but you do have some creativity.

Most people think that you’re either born with creativity or you’re not…and while there’s some truth to that, we’re all given some creativity to work with. Creativity doesn’t always mean that you can paint an oil masterpiece or compose a concerto in B minor. If that were the case…I’d be the least creative person on the planet. Here’s another way to look at creativity:

What are you really good at?

If you enjoy rebuilding historic cars and sweating under a hood…
If you can balance a checkbook and it completely geeks you out to have the numbers line up…
If you iron shirts until the creases down the arms are sharp enough to slice bread…
If planning a wedding down to the color of the rose petals on the floor…

We’re all creative because we were created by God. What we don’t realize is that the term creativity has been pushed towards the arts…and that isn’t exclusively true. Now ask yourself this question:

What can I add to my creative bend…to make it better?
