… and the plural of bolus is … boli

As you were …

Thank you!

nghuixuan, I was reading your posts and saw that you give yourself 32g carb for a breakfast of oatmeal+milk. A 1/2 cup of Quick Quaker oats oatmeal is 27 gr. of carbs. How much skim milk are you using with that 1/2 cup (if that is the amount you are giving yourself)? I usually add a half banana OR 1/4 cup of blueberries to my oatmeal PLUS for protein I add a tsp. of peanut butter to it. So that meal is 58 grams of carbo’s. I bolus 15-20 minutes before the meal and because my ratio of carbs to insulin is 8.5 at my breakfast meal, and depending on my blood glucose that morning my pump Bolus Wizard gives me 6.4 units of insulin.

If I were you I’d check the carbo’s again, your carb to insulin ratio and then correct it. I’ve found that what I did above helped me to not go into the 200’s and above after eating. I too love oatmeal for breakfast and did not want to give it up as it sustains me all morning without getting low blood glucose’s!
