Diabetes and Eating Disorders

Hello Rose, thank you for posting these links!

Have you had experience with this treatment program yet?

Please reach out whenever you need us! There are so many people who can help remind us that we are not alone!!!

Type 1 diabetes and eating disorders (especially in teens and women in general) are more likely to develop an eating disorder, due to being unhappy with their appearance, and when newly diagnosed, insulin will cause some weight gain usually, which for teens can be unwanted weight gain. There are so many girls out there who suffer from eating disorders with type 1 diabetes, one being called "Diabulimia" where insulin shots will be skipped, in order to induce weight loss, because the high blood sugar cause more urination, thus, weightloss. But there are people out there, like myself, who suffer from regular eating disorders, anorexia, bulimia, and EDNOS (eating disorder not otherwise specified - restrictive eating disorders, excessive exercising, and other eating disorders that don't fit into the criteria for "anorexia and bulimia").

Eating disorders, whether specified, or EDNOS are all dangerous, and have the same effects on the body and mental stability of the person suffering. I have been suffering from EDNOS-restrictive/purge/exercising/fasting for 2 1/2 years now.

I am glad to help with your paper. I hope some of this information helps.
