Perhaps you have hypoglycemia unawareness.I have been a type 1 for 23 1/2years and have been on the pump for 1 year.I have it too and have been working on keeping my blood sugar in a more acceptable range. On injections I was having alot of hypos and have even been found a few times by family members when I was in a insulin shock coma.In order to regain the feeling of lows you should keep your numbers up a little higher even if you don’t like it.I hated to be in the 126 - 162 range before.I have slowly gotten used to it and feel alot better.I’m not having any hypos. When hypos occur your body creates stress hormones and will cause your blood sugar to rise several hours later. When you stop the hypos you don’t have the spikes in blood sugar.Everytime a low occurs you deplete the reserves of epinephrine.Women have an even smaller reserve than men.Have you thought about going on the pump?In Ontario the government will pay for a pump and supplies. It is the best thing they have ever done.
