In case anybody missed the point by @Thas (which was good but subtle - lol)

The G4/G5 sensors are FDA approved for 7 days (each) and are shipped four sensors in a box such that a box is FDA approved to cover 28 days.

The G6 sensors are FDA approved for 10 days (each) and will be shipped three sensors in a box such that a box is FDA approved to cover 30 days.

For us Medicare recipients we get FIVE sensors per 30 days. We get a box of 4 and a box of 1 and 3 boxes of strips. It’s a great deal!!!

Tandem just announced that they expect to offer G6 compatibility with the Tandem t:slim X2 later this year. (That was surprising.)

The Basal-IQ (PLGS) update which will work in conjunction with the G5 will be released first and expected this Summer. (Awaiting FDA approval.)

Tandem expects a fairly rapid follow-up with an additional update which will allow the Dexcom G6 to be used with the pump. Maybe this Fall? (Also will require FDA approval however under the new iCGM standard which is expected to significantly decrease the timeframe required.)

Canadian launch still expected second half this year.

EDIT: On a not so good note, the Tandem t:flex (480 unit cartridge) is being discontinued. Tandem will continue to support all t:flex pumps through their warranties and will continue to have supplies available.
