I’m sorry for the confusion I actually meant that I had lost 4% body fat. Although now I’ve lost another percent body fat to put me at 19%, still weigh 113. My numbers are still slowly creeping up, I have the next blood work with an A1 C in one month I’m curious as to what that will show. I would be hesitant to think it would be MODY because I do not think I have any genetic background in my family. The wait and see stage is just difficult to be in, although I am still exercising and watching my diet.
Thanks, I'm relieved.
I just want you to realize that despite all the messages, you don't get diabetes (of any kind) because weren't fit. You get diabetes because of genetics and bad luck. Even the much vaunted Diabetes Prevention Program found that most people still progressed to full blown diabetes in a couple years. But the good message is that with proper attention, continuing diet and exercise, you have the best chances of good outcomes. And these days, we should have every expectation of living long, healthy and happy lives even if we end up having "bad" diabetes.
ps. And as you look at diet, keep your eyes open. A "healthy" diet for someone that has blood sugar problems is a diet that helps maintain normal blood sugars. For most of us this is a restricted carb diet, not a restricted fat diet.
Yeah I had read that as well about the diet so I have been really restricting the carbs to super minimal although I have not counted them as of yet. I’ve just been avoiding grains and most fruit. I do not shy away from that although I have been trying to make it healthier fat like almonds and olive oil and avocado. The bonus is that my cholesterol while always good, did get better.
