Frio

pros & cons of frio coolers

I have one Shoshana. I use it if I'll be away from home for a period of time when it's really hot, as it's been the last week. I find that if I keep it in my small D kit in my purse that it stays cool enough as long as I don't leave the purse in the car!

They do work well, well designed.

thanks, pup

I have a small one and a large one and have used them a bunch. I just got back from a 2 week trip and brought them and they did an admirable job. But I only trust them to keep my insulin at essentially room temperature under routine conditions, they are not a substitute for refrigerated storage. And I would not trust them under hot conditions (> 90 deg), in the sun or in extremely humid conditions (they work by evaporation). That being said, they work better than a small frozen gelpac and will last all day (in fact for several days).
