Glucose-Responsive Insulin webcast

Live Webcast: Glucose-Responsive Insulin with JDRF’s Sanjoy Dutta, Ph.D.
Wednesday, September 28 at 3 p.m. ET
JDRF recently announced the launch of The Glucose-Responsive Insulin Prize, in partnership with InnoCentive, to look for ways to approach the discovery and development of a novel insulin that would essentially work only when the body needs it. Learn more about glucose-responsive insulin as we feature Dr. Sanjoy Dutta, JDRF’s Director of Glucose Control for this month’s live webcast on September 28 at 3 p.m. EST.
Glucose-responsive insulin (GRI) would deliver precisely the amount of insulin in response to blood glucose levels, and has the potential to transform the quality of life for people with diabetes. It would improve glucose control, decrease or even eliminate the need for frequent, routine blood sugar tests and ultimately reduce the chances of short- and long-term complications.
Some of the topics that Dr. Dutta will address include:
  • What is glucose-responsive insulin (GRI) and how would it work?
  • What kind of impact would the discovery and development of GRI have on people with diabetes?
  • Where does research on GRI stand currently?
  • Why is JDRF using a prize to spur the development of GRI?
  • How long would it take before we could see glucose-responsive insulin on the market?
We hope you will join in this conversation by submitting your questions via live chat at www.jdrf.org/livewebcasts on Wednesday, September 28, at 3:00 PM EST. The program is scheduled to last 1 hour.

You may also ask your questions via email by sending them to webcast@jdrf.org.

Glucose-responsive insulin is one of my absolute favorite ideas. I don't mind some needles if the result is actual blood sugar control (as opposed to what I've got now).

Mine, too! Would be as close as we’ll get to functioning normally.
