Dexcom Clarity prominently shows GMI at the top of the screen. GMI seems to stand for Glucose Management Indicator.
It looks like it might be comparable to A1C- it’s expressed as a percentage and might be in the same ballpark - but it looks like it might be 0.5% higher than the A1C.
Below are my numbers. 6.4% GMI, 129 mg/dL average, 5.9% lab A1C.
According to online calculators 129 mg/dL average works out to 6.1% A1C.
Is 0.5% deviation between GMI and A1C typical for other folks here? Or am I just a “low glycator”, a person whose A1C seems a little low compared to average bg?
