Hallucination for diabetic sufferer

My mother is 61 and she suffers from Type 1 diabetes, which has affected her eyes badly. She takes daily insulin injection now. She started hallucinating recently and I think it’s what has been known as the Charles Bonnett Syndrome. She also began having problem sleeping. Her doctor precribed her some medication to help her sleep. First she slept for two days almost without waking. Then now she is plagued with dreams and she seems to hallucinate during the day too. I suspect it’s a combination of hallucination and Charles Bonnett concurrently. Does anyone else experience this?
