Mine was abusive, and an adulterer, but near the end of his life, he became more mellow, and I was able to learn to love him. One good thing turned out from it; I determined that I was NOT going to be like him. My daughter considers me to be the best Dad ever, and that’s all that counts. A perfect Father’s Day for Hubby!!! We had Brunch with his daughter , her husband , our 2 granddaughters and one boy friend while on our way home from Vancouver .Due to distances we don’t get together too often .
My Dad passed away in 1963 at age 64 …5 months after I had emigrated to Canada.
