My daughter and I are going to visit the camp she will be going to this summer, Clara Barton in Oxford, MA. I am so excited for her. She has been looking forward to going to a camp since she was diagnosed last year. I hope it is everything she hopes for and more. Her numbers have been all over the place lately and I am hoping this jump starts a new beginning for her. Wish her luck! I know she will have fun, meet new friends and learn more about what she has to deal with everyday!
I went to camp when I was 12 and it was a great learning exp. for me. I didn’t feel like the outcast because hey everyone was testing and carb counting and what not. It helped me become comfortable in who I was as a type 1. so I hope it is everything she wants and more!
I am sure she will have a wonderful time.!! Exciting.
Clara Barton is supposed to be GREAT! I went to a camp for the first time this summer- it’s the one thing that makes me wish I was actually diagnosed earlier so that I could have gone every year! It’s great, fun and totally safe!
