Help

I started on insulin Friday. When I give the injection the insuline comes back out of the skin when I remove the needle. I am using the longer needle. What the heck am I doing wrong. Has anobody else had this problem?

Try to keep it in for 10 seconds at least before pulling out the needle. It is ok to see a little drop squeek out. I am on the pump and when I remove an infusion set sometimes some insulin drips out. Remember it is just below the skin a few millimeters so it’s ok.

As Richard says, I leave the needle in for a few seconds. Very occasionally I get a droplet come out, usually when I have hit a small capillary and caused a little blood to emerge also. It’s never affected me. Sometimes, what looks like a droplet coming back out is actually insulin that was on the outer of the needle from the airshot before injecting.
