Hello.
I am at 32-year-old Type I diabetic. I was diagnosed in July of 1994 at the age of 17. I spent the next three years living in denial (I still do some days) living life however I wanted. In 1997 I formed an ulcer on my lower left leg. I had to have it surgically removed, and skin grafting. I have been on an insulin pump since 2001. I just switched from my trusty Minimed, to the OmniPod. I am really liking the freedom that I have with the OmniPod. I have a host of diabetic complications. In addition to the ulcer, I have gastroparesis, hypothyroidism, PCOS, hypertension, and while not related, I deal with epilepsy as well.
I do my best to lead a normal life. I am married with a 6-year-old son, who I ADORE! I look forward to meeting other people on tudiabetes.org.
