My sincere condolences on the loss of your father.
I lost my mother 8 years ago to Alzheimers and T1 complications. This year I lost a younger brother to a throat tumor. Both were shocks, though not entirely unexpected. Grief fades, but fond memories keep them with us always.
Fortunately my 94 year old dad is alive and, as he says, in great shape for the shapes he’s in. Me, too.
