So I’ve come to the decision that I pretty much hate having to constantly monitor my blood sugar. It confuses me.
I checked, took insulin, and ate. I should’ve been fine.
But then I checked before driving to work and it was 29!!
And twenty minutes later, after a can of pop, it was 45!
So I went and made some kerosyrup tea & checked 15 minutes later, changed my strips, washed my hands…it was 328.
And now I feel like trash, had to call off work because I can’t drive. And have to keep pricking my fingers every 30 minutes.
And I really have no one at home to talk to about it.
ugh. diabetes stinks.
I sure hate the roller coaster too. I’m surprised the pop only took you up to 45. It’s so easy to overeat when you’re low. I think the rule of thumb is to eat 15 gm of fast acting carb, and wait 15 minutes and test again, repeat if necessary. OJ or glucose tabs work the fastest.

the pop i drank was only 30 grams so i thought i’d be fine with that.
15 grams usually doesn’t bring me up very much and being so low, i thought the pop would be a better choice.
especially since i would have had to make the orange juice & walking didn’t seem to be an option at that moment. haha.
