Holy high

so noticing by my a1c i haven’t necessarily been the best behaved diabetic. but recently i’ve been trying to get back into the swing of things, i’ve even started testing two hours after i eat. you have to understand that for quite a while i was only testing once a day. so today i forgot to test two hours later, but no big deal right? wrong. here it is three and a half hours later, i started to feel a lil funny getting thirsty and my chest hurts. so i test 495, 507 i get a new bottle of strips there’s no way its that high my final test is a 475. where did i go wrong? this is ridiculous. of course not even two min later my friends daughter calls and asks if i wanna buy some girl scout cookies. aint that some sh*t!

never fails…hope you get it down soon–I feel like crap when mine hits 250–thankfully never had one as high as yours (never been over 300–thought i was gonna die there)…

I hope your numbers are down now… that is a dangerous place to be. But hang in there… if you haven’t been in the best control… consider the positives, you tested, you are trying to figure it out, you are reaching out to gain support, you are asking question, so you can avoid another high. Keep it up! Hope you are doing better.

so i over corrected an hour and a half ago and i’m still a 405 urgh

oh hon i so know how you feel. I’ve been really trying to get my hb1ac down but it sure isn’t easy. Keep us updated

i know how you feel i’ve been struggling to 300 and 400 for about last mnth. 9.8 on my a1c but you can get it down my dr. suggested taking more night time insulin so it would help through out the day to get the day time down and level out below 200 maybe you should talk to your dr

I have been taking same small steps you are. It is HARD. Keep drinking water, check every 30 minutes to 1 hour and watch and see. Are you on a pump? Is it working correctly/did it slip out? Can you temporarily increase your basal rate? Can you give yourself a few extra units? Don’t beat yourself up. This can happen to any of us. If it isn’t coming down, call your doctor. I always freak out if my blood sugar goes over 400, I feel like complete crap and I get very anxious. Keep us posted.

no need to fear, finally at 10 i finally got down to 150 …whew
