How do you get started? Any tricks to the trade?

What is your trick to keep on track? What do you do each morning to make sure you do what you are supposed to do? I don’t take insulin. I take byetta and metformin. I really want to get this under control. I really want to lose weight. I just don’t know where to start.

log, log, log! everything is written down. when you take your meds, exercise, everything that goes into your mouth. that’s the best way to get control of all of this.

If you can lower your blood sugars to where they are always under 140 mg/dl after meals using this strategy, you should be able to keep your A1c in the 5% range for a very long time. I’m heading to 10 years of being in the 5% A1c range using this strategy.
