Add up all the ingredients and divide by four, this is what I do! I also usually try to find low carb substitutions for recipes. For instance maybe you could use only 1.5 cans of tomato sauce and then for the brown sugar I would use splenda brown sugar blend which is 2g carbs for 1/2 tsp. Then when divided by 4 it will make a pretty big difference in the total carb count.
I personally would rather just divide by 4 and overestimate than to underestimate and end up with high bg.

Thanks for that advice! I never thought about “stepping outside the box” and trying different low carb options. Someone else commented on here and told me to make my own tomato sauce by using the food processor and fresh tomatoes or canned tomatoes b/c there is less sugar that way. I love this website b/c everyone has been so supportive and I have learn quite a bit from others. It’s great to see how other diabetics have adjusted and what tricks they do to keep the carbs and sugar down. I also would much rather correct for a high than going low. Lows are no fun! Thanks again girl
I hope you have a nice Friday and a fantastic weekend!
