It sounds like you’ve got yourself a very good guy.
I agree, he sounds awesome. I hope you find a resolution, and please fill us in on how the calls go. If you find a solution it may help someone else who lands themselves in the same boat.
He really is
I will keep you informed.
You better call the trash company immediately. I once threw away a very expensive lens in the paper recycle by accident. I went down to look for it but it was hopeless. They did find it a week later, because they run everything on a conveyor belt. And it was ok. I don’t know about regular trash though. Good luck!
I put my dexcom receiver on home owner’s ins and it was replaced once when I wore it into a pool. I think they said I can’t put the pump on, or it was just too expensive to do it. All my camera equipment is ins now though. But it requires special coverage it will not be automatically covered.
Oh my word you guys!!!
I’m thrilled to say that my husband got into his truck to go to work today and found the box sitting on the back seat where my daughters car seat usually goes.
Neither one of us remembers putting it there.
It’s an outright miracle in my mind!! I don’t even know what to say or think right now.
What an emotional roller coaster!
Phew–so glad to hear that! Almost worth the anxiety you were going through for the amount of blessed relief you must be feeling now!
Kinda reminds me of the time my wife lost her wedding ring. She was able to determine it had dropped out of her jacket pocket on the train (she’d taken it off for a sculpture course she was taking). Obviously a dead loss. Went through all her stuff when she got home, but it had to have fallen out on the train—she remembered pulling her handkerchief out of the same pocket, and must have dragged the ring along with it. Spent a couple of hours sitting with her as she went through all the angst, self-accusation, consolation, coming to terms with grief of loss, etc. I left her sitting on the bed to get some tissues. Coming back, I was crossing the living room carpet in my bare feet when I felt something small, round and sharp under my foot. I was able to give her the tissue she needed, and as she blew her nose I held up what I’d found. “Also, here’s this hon.” Ended up being a great moment in our relationship.
Course they don’t always come out with such happy endings but I’m glad this one did for you!
@DrBB What a great story for you guys as well! The running joke in our house when we can’t find things is “I probably threw it away so go look in the truck”

Happy, happy, happy!!!
That’s great news!!!
That is an amazing update to hear! I’m so excited for you both!
The “magic wand” comment @Marie20 made earlier struck a happy note with me. I’m a scientist through and through, but I’ve always wished for a little more whimsy and magic in this world. I’m so happy you could make a little of your own.
Beth,
I am so sorry. I recently upgraded from t:slim to t:slim with basal IQ. When I got my first pump in 2016, I know my insurance was billed $5000 for just the pump. Most recently insurance was billed around $8000. I kept my old pump even though it is out of warranty. Both pumps work with the same cartridges and Infusion sets. Sometimes diabetic educators receive products from people who no longer need the products for whatever reason (upgrade, going off pump, death, etc). You may want to ask in your area. By the way, where are you located? Is your husband covered by regular insurance? The pump supplier should have insurance for loss or malfunction. Jane
Beth,
I replied to your other message before seeing this great news. I am glad for you. Tell him good luck with the pump. I love mine. Jane
