I broke the 6.0 mark!

That is fantastic! Way to go!

thank so much, cinderfella. yeah, that's the problem i have too, middle of the night or waking up in AM and then just keep rising in the morning without eating, think that's DP? Did it take you a while to get your lantus doses set? A part of me wants to go back to MDI, it just seems easier, although I don't have my pump basal rates correct..but I could never get my levemir doses correct. IDK. If we push a button on a pump or push a button on a pen or syringe, what's the difference..ha! Are you low carbing. Also, again, hope you don't mind the questions, do you check 1 hr ppl and do you spike, what are your 2 hr ppls? Great job, again. :) THANKS!

Great job, I know how much hard work and willpower goes into obtaining a number like that!!!

I try to eat low carb. I basically just eat meat and veggies. I cut out all breads, rice, cereals, pasta a couple of years ago. I don’t miss them any more. It took a few months to get the Lantus dose right. I learned very quickly that to take one dose didn’t quite work 24 hours. So I split it and played around with the times of day landing, finally, on morning and dinner time doses. That way they overlap during the day when I’m eating rather than over night when I’m not. I do have DP but I catch it immediately upon awakening with a bolus, not much of one. Just a few units. Whether you are on a pump or MDI, there is no way around it. Diabetes is a very high maintenance condition. You have to be on it every two to three hours with either food, finger sticks, or insulin.

true, no way around it, it's just plain work. hum, i'm gonna try a bit longer on pump then maybe go back to MDI. IDK! I like the overlap of AM basal and dinner dose - that may work, as I run out in pm too. I had my A1C done on Monday, 6.3%, not bad but it could be better. I too would like to get it down to 6 or maybe 5.9...I know it can be done on MDI's, you're proof. Test, test, test, inject, inject, inject...all day, every day. such a burn out. Thanks for posting your great news...encourages all of us. :)

Congrats, especially being on MDI. Don't let it get away from you!
