Hi Shannon
As you have given such a comprehensive answer to this, could you help me with something.
My first sensor will finish tomorrow, but i want to keep using it. So do I wait until it completely stops and then just press “Start Sensor” again?
Tanks in advance
Dee
Hi Dee,
Yes, I usually wait for it to end and just select Start Sensor (like I just inserted a new one). It will still take two hours to calibrate, but then, you’re good to go! I’ve only had one sensor not go longer than seven days.
Good luck!
Whenever you restart the sensor you lose 2 hours of visibility. I pull my sensor after 12 days no matter what. Thus it is no loss for me to restart after 6 days. I compromise between being as close as possible to 7 days and picking 2 hours when I miss the visibility the least. In other words, I restart the sensor when I expect my bg to be stable and I don’t have to bridge the 2 hours with finger pricks. Restarting during a stable bg period also helps accuracy.
