As one can see from reading these posts, opinions are all over the board. Some people take statins with no problems. Some people suffer terrible side effects. Some people have great success with low dosages; some people see no improvement with massive doses. This just shows what we all have said about diabetes: EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT. We all have different body chemistry and will react to drugs in very different ways. I personally have not had a good experience with statins, so I refuse to take any. That said, the one truth that I see is that each of us must do our research, know our bodies, ask the right questions of our physicians, and do what is right for US. This forum is a great place to do some of the research, but in the end, we each (thankfully!) have the right to make our own decisions about what will or will not be introduced into our bodies. May we all find what works well to meet our individual needs.
