Hello! The name’s Kate and I am so glad to have found this site!! I am recently diagnosed Type 1 and also expecting baby #4, so to say my life is a bit up in the air right now would be putting it lightly.
My A1C is 8.4 which is worrisome. We are working on getting me a pump fingers crossed and I heard baby’s heartbeat last week!
I’m a coastal Alabama native, mom, wife, hairstylist, and author! <3

Hi, my name is Naomi. I found this forum through a thread that came up in a Google search.
I have been type 1 since my diagnosis in 1991.
Somehow I’ve been fortunate enough to survive my lackadaisical diabetes caretaking (doc used to tell me I’d be dead by 25 when I was a kid!)
I never thought I’d be able to have kids. But I’m fed up with never.
Am really starting to reconsider a lot of things I thought I wanted or not.
I still inject with syringes and am on novorapid and Lantas.

HI I’m new to this forum, but not so new to diabetes, I was diagnosed 7 years ago, with type 2. I’ve had my ups and downs over the years, and try to do the best I can. I know I’m not perfect with medications and insulin, but I putter along. I’m a mom to a 16 year old son, and a 10 year old girl. My husband is very supportive and is great at reminding me about pill times I have hit a bit of a down-slide lately, and it would be great to be chatting with others who are on the same roller coaster. Yes, I feel like I am on a permanent roller-coaster. It’s nice to meet new people, who have similar issues going on.

Just found this site randomly on google searching for dexcom/medtronic stuff.
I am type 1 for 18 years, I am also an optometrist and spend lots of time talking with patients about diabetes.
I use the 670G and the guardian 3 sensor, just got my first pump in feb 2018 and still adjusting to it, I love the sensor readings really able to see how food and snacks affect me now, I did MDA for 17 years with r/nph and then lantus when it came out.

Hi! I have been diagnosed T2 now for about 5 years. Currently I take Levemir 2 times in a 24 hour period, and I eat lo carb so I don’t get many rises during the day. My journey has been difficult, not so much with the disease itself, but with the medical community I have had to deal with. I am sure most of you have had to endure that as well. I am married, have 7 (total from me and hubby) children, 15 grandchildren and 1 g-grandbaby. Oh, and I can’t forget my 2 worthless dogs, who basically rule my life. I joined this forum to learn from all of you ways I may better handle my diabetes. Thanks for having me!

My name is Chrissy. I have four great kids, two grandkids, and after losing my spouse 2 1/2 years ago, was recently married to one of the sweetest men ever.
I started riding a motorcycle because God told me I needed to learn about courage. At the time, I wondered why I would need such an object lesson. Shortly after that, I was told I had diabetes T2. I went through all the stages… denial, grief, research, then acceptance. For the most part, I handled it with diet and exercise, Metformin and Glipizide. After my husband was killed, my life turned upside down and stress took its toll. In spite of my best efforts, my BS climbed dangerously higher and higher. After reading this forum, I felt relieved to find others like me who use insulin to control what seemed an impossible task. I’m happy to say that my numbers are going down slowly and I feel better about me. Thanks to this community, I’m not alone and feel your support. Thank you so much for being here for me. I hope I can be of help to someone and pass it forward.

Hello, I am new to the forum. My wife found this while doing heavy research on the new devices, Tandem Insulin Pump and the Dexcom G6, my doctor placed me on over the summer. Hoping to learn new things as I go along. I was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes in my mid 20’s. Took poor care of myself over the next 12+ years until I met my wife. She has been able to slowly get things turned around for me, but the real eye opener was when my health started declining. I now am disabled due to Retina Neuropathy and Neuropathy that is creepy up my hands and feet. Definitely have been working hard to do what I can to not make matters worse and slow the process down and try to prevent future issues related to diabetes. I hope to learn more throughout the forum and look forward to learning and speaking!
