In for the fight of my life

Michelle I hope–no, I know that you will find help from people here on TuD! You have come to the right place! I also agree with Doris…you can’t let your family’s complacency and non-active diabetes management set a precedent for you. You mentioned that you haven’t had a good diabetes role model…well I think your acknowledgement of what you’re doing (w/ insulin omission, etc) is a case-in-point that you can be your own role model! And you have all of us here at TuD to help you through it–the ups and downs, the thick and thin…all of it. We’re here for you.
Remember that a plan of attack for controlling your BGs better will not be an overnight sensation. It’s a learning process and keep in mind all of the baby steps and successes that you reach, and I know that you can do it!! It is NOT a losing battle. At least it doesn’t have to be. Seeing an endo is a great first step. Just keep putting one foot in front of the other in this, and you can overcome a lot of your current obstacles!
