Hi my name is Billy Stautzenberger I am 52 yrs old I was diagnosed almost 11 months ago since that day I rearranged my diet and have lost 67 lbs roughly and I have managed to keep my diabetes under control with metformin and diet I am starting to enjoy the change in eating habits because it is not the regular eating habit but it is growing on me and I want to try to keep losing down to about 200 lbs maybe a little more.
Welcome to TU! Congratulations on all your hard work. Visiting this website often will help keep you focused too. Isn’t it amazing all the junk we ate before? Take care and may your numbers be great.
Awesome job, Billy! Welcome to our community.
Yes it is my problem is that I kew it was junk and kept on eating it but after finding out about the diabetes I just changed without fighting it and had few problems coping with it and have truely enjoyed the change and I am working on totally embrassing it and eatting that way the rest of my life.
I am very grateful to my friend for reccommending me to this site it will help.
Welcome Billy! Glad you are here. Good work on your diet and weight lost. Youre not alone…we are here to support =)
Welcome Billy, I’m so glad you joined!!! Good to have you here my dear friend!!! Guess what? We have even more in common than I thought, I also take Metformin and I’ve just begun my new eating lifestyle. I have a long way to go! But with friends by our side, the journey won’t be quite so difficult!! Thanks for being my friend. Love ya, Cindy
Even at 52 you are still a diabetic baby! Welcome to tudiabetes. The most important thing about diabetes is acceptance. It comes in different forms for different people. You seem to be on you way with this. Just remember this is a Lifestyle and not just a disease. I have any frustrations, questions and worries etc. don’t be scared to post them as questions here. I am sure somebody else has felt the same!

Congratulations! Welcome.
good for you billystaut! I was only diagnosed three months ago. Am on 500 mg of metformin X 2 and diet. I’ve only lost four lbs. Better than none. Keep up the good work. I’m hoping to get down to 135-140. I’m 5’3" and weigh 154, after the four pound loss.
Thomas the best I can tell you is try 5 or 6 small meals that is how I lost my weight and eating more better foods it really does work.
