Is this prediabetes?

I got a lab test back showing my fasting glucose as 101 mg/dl and HbA1c at 6.1. I did an online calculation for that and it shows an average bg of 139 mg/dl for that A1c level. All of the online resources are seeming to point to these lab results as indications of prediabetes. I really didn’t think that I was at any risk for it. I guess that I will have it checked out further. Strange…

With a A1c of 6.6 is great, it is below 7. As for the word Prediabetis, really means it is a warning sign that all of us have to take better care of ourselves. I went 6 years before going on any tipe of meds. With the seminars I’ve been to on Diabetis, the phraze of “Prediabetis” is a scarefull attack to scare everyone which is a great way for us who dont want to believe we have the “BIG D”. So please take this time to really sit down and calculate what changes you have to do to take the D and put it in perspective and make the progress slow down so you dont have to go 6.6 to 7.5+ in 60 seconds.
