Actually I would be interested in exploring pork insulin, I used to take it way back when. It would have been not long after diagnosis, I don’t really remember much from that time but I think my numbers were chaotic and my doctor concluded that I was allergic to the human insulin. Apparently I got over my allergy, although my numbers are pretty chaotic now…
Is it still possible to get it in the states? Is it otc?
Yes it is available though I do not know too much about the states and your way of dealing with things. You could try enquiries@iddtinternational.org. They are the people I got into contact with and they are far more supportive that the bigger organisations such as Diabetes UK etc and their is no fee for joining the group. They do encourage donations but they are really helpful. If you read their first lot of literature you will see that there are many who are allergic to the human kind (which is not human at all!) Go for it! You have nothing to lose but everything to gain! Good luck and let us know how you get on!
