Life with diabetes

i was 4 when i was first diagnosed with diabetes…i don’t remember much…since now that i’m 15 years old, i’m on the minimed insulin pump and soon going on the omnipod…i don’t know much about the omnipod, all i know is that it’s wireless and that it doesn’t have any tubes on it and that theres a pdm that controls your blood glucose…i am the only diabetic in my family with diabetes…i’m in 10th grade…

Hey, Jordyn – Welcome! I’m on the OmniPod. There’s a users group here lots of good information can be found there. The pod has no external tubing. The whole pump is self-contained. You program and manage the pump with the PDM. Just before I went on the OmniPod I started with the Dexcom 7 Plus. Having real-time blood glucose information and visible trending, it’s a lot easier to manage your bolusing. Tonight I’m trying a new basal program with a higher basal rate from 3 am to 6 am. I’ve seemed to be going high about then. It’s a pretty cool system. I bet you’ll like it a lot.
