LivingSTRONG during Chemo!

First off thank you to everyone for the birthday greetings! I had a great b-day! Surprise party with 20 friends so much fun!

LivingSTRONG…
I have three rounds of chemo under my belt and I’m determined not to let cancer keep me down. I have chemo treatments every two weeks until July 16. Typically, it takes me about 4 or 5 days to recover from chemo. On my off weeks I have been trying to get some exercise and stay healthy during my treatments. Yesterday, I climbed ‘The Incline’ in Manitou, Springs, CO. It use to be a cog railroad that took people up to Pike’s Peak. The climb is 2000 vertical in one mile! It’s tough even when you are not on chemo. The steepest pitch is 68 degrees! It took about an hour but I did and I felt great. There was an amazing view from the top. My fiance and I also got some much need RnR. We stayed at a nice B&B, slept in and sat in the hot tub. It was good to get away.

Three days ago…
I started the day with 2.5 mile run. It felt good. Not as much of a struggle as the last couple. I actually felt like I was getting stronger. It’s a good sign.

Chemo round #4 is on Thursday wish me luck!

You’re an inspiration!

Glad to hear that you had a good birthday and that you are staying active on the ‘off’ weeks.

Brian you are awesome
be loved

As your body continues to follow your mind…the cancer does not stand a chance against you.

Brian FTW!!!

GREAT YOU ARE

brian, you are an inspiration! keep up the positive 'tude and all will be well. There has actually been studies that linked negative thoughts and behaviors to diseases and other maladies and consequently, there were results that showed people who had a positive outlook, no matter how bleak the situation, recovered twice as fast and required less medications. Its probably why they have “pet therapy” at old folks homes because little pets bring such joy to them

Brian I am so glad to hear that you are doing so well. Your attitude is the best i have ever seen. You have been dealt 2 huge blows diabetes and now cancer. And you still have a positive attitude. Keep doing what you are doing, its working!!! Congratulations on the climb.

you are amazing!! stay strong!

you are such a blessing to us all Brian…may we live and learn by your example of strength through the tough times…awesome job on the climb! and the jogging!
love, hugs, prayers and good vibes…

Thank you for all the support! It means a lot to me. I am inspired by all of you!
