If Medicare really does totally deny every person on the G6 access to covered strips I’m going to likely appeal, as that is a medically dangerous position for them to take. They are playing way too fast and loose with our health if they decide not to provide strips. That’s just one more reason why I don’t want to stop using the G5. I hope that early next year they have already gotten bombarded with complaints/appeals regarding their lack of strip coverage.
Even if I can afford to buy a few strips, I shouldn’t have to spend my money on something that was fully covered when using the G5. It’s possible that a doctor’s Rx may be all that is needed, such as when I went from getting the standard 150 strips from Dexcom, to double that. Now, I use far less, so I don’t request a full shipment any longer.
