Will a Animas insulin pump cartridge fit in a Medtronic
The short answer is, “no.”
But there may be exceptions. Most (maybe all) Medtronic pumps use a proprietary connection where the cartridge attaches to both the pump body and the infusion set. I thought I read somewhere that a few Med-T pumps use the standard luer-lock connector. I’m sure there are people here who know the definitive answer to your question.
Medtronic switched to the paradigm connecter about 15 years ago. Apparently it is possible to purchase luer lock reservoirs for paradigm pumps. I am not sure why you would want to do so though.
More accurately you can still buy most MM sets in luer lock versions (except for Mio’s, but the same set is available as the Inset II or T:90, and Sure-T, which is also known as the contact detatch) - they’re popular among all pumpers, and there ARE still people out there using old MM508 pumps, which were built like tanks… you can even still buy reservoirs for those, but they too take a special one, you can’t just swap one LL reservoir/cartridge for another.
