Recently changed from plastic canula to MMT874 metal. Gone through 6 so far, and every time the used needle is removed, it bleeds. This never happened with the plastic. Does anyone know the Medtronic instructions for removal of the metal canula?
I was told to grab the plastic disc and pull straight out. but I only used to of those sets and the sites did not bleed.
I use the Animas version, contact-D's. Before I insert, I lightly touch the needle tip to my skin in the area I plan to insert. If I can feel it acutely, I keep trying till I find a spot that has less feeling. In my case, these spots with less nerves bleed much less. YMMV.
