Went to the doctors yesterday, he was happy with my numbers but not with my weight. We i first found out i was diabetic i saw one of his partners. He gave me glipside. He wants be to change to Metformin? What's the difference, what should i expect? He wants me to start off with one dose a day?
This topic is probably better suited to the discussion forum. Metformin is a much safer and appropriate medication for someone with T2. It helps reduce your insulin resistance and is very safe and effective. Glipizide is a medication which forces your pancreas to just push out more insulin and is generally felt to be less safe, less effective and can lead to burning out your pancreas. I think moving to met is actually a good idea.
