My mother

Today I spent the day moving my mother’s clothes and a lot of furniture into an apartment.
She is quite poor in health and is moving into assisted living.
Tomorrow we move her, her oxygen machine, her lazy boy chair and tv into her apartnment.
It is lovely, and is like living the lifestyle of the rich and famous.
Margarita monday, wine tasting fridays, and cocktails every day if you wish.
Her meals will be prepared, her laundry done, the trash taken out, her sheets changed, and more.

How relaxing.
She wants to be hennaed before she goes, so Jessica will have to henna her.

Your mom is lucky to have a daughter like you!! I need to be in assisted living because of mobility problems and falling down. I just can’t afford it … or so I think. Where do you live?

We live in southern California, Camarillo is the perfect little mediterranean climate.
It is so pretty here year round. Her room has 3 windows in the bedroom and a palm tree right close to one, with 3 jacaranda trees in view from another-they are so pretty when they bloom.
Her view of the giant hill and strawberrry fields another plus.

The best thing my parents ever did for me was to move to a retirement community 10 years ago. They are in their own apt, independent living, but there is assisted living and nursing care in the same high rise. If they don’t feel well, I say, “go down to the nurse!”. They make their own breakfast and lunch, and go to the dining room for dinner. I don’t have to worry about them.

She will be living the life style of the rich and famous, laundry done, trash service daily, linens changed, 3 meals a day, entertainment if she likes, beauty shop, margarita mondays, and wine tasting fridays, it seems so serene and relaxing and she will not have the stress of having to ask me for groceries, medications, and every thing she needs.
I hope her days there will be enjoyable.
