New and confused

Thanks for the input i've just ordered the book from Amazon so i look forward to reading it this weekend. I guess you're another newbie like me, hopefully you're doing well with it all and continue to do so in the future!

Hi, I was diagnosed at 28 in 2007. I would recommend a great doctor team and diabetes educator.I had all the same questions you did when I was diagnosed and felt so overwhelmed. I was initially on Lantus and Humalog. I also had to split my doses of Lantus because I was also going low. I am now on a pump and have been for 3 years. It helped me to be on shots initially to understand how everything works but after a year I switched to the pump. The pump does make life easier however it is important to get your basal numbers, insulin to carb ratio and correction factor right! Otherwise you will have some crazy blood sugar numbers. I also read the book Using Insulin and when I was researching the pump read Pumping Insulin.
