New insulin called degludec

I’ve seen a couple articles on this today (Sep.28,2010). In stage 2 trial in U.K.

7,000 people T1 and T2 diabetics to try Degludec insulin in phase 3 trials. That is a lot more people than previously tested. It seems more groundbreaking for T2’s but can it be a step towards a smart insulin for T1’s?
